The Faulty Plowers are an acoustic trio from the upstate counties of Anderson, Greenville, and Pickens.

 

The band consists of Russ Chapman Bass Guitars and vocals, Kevin Heuer drums, percussion, and vocals, Tim Lee vocals, guitars, and autoharp.


All three are accomplished musicians that perform, record, and teach on the professional level.

About the band

While they have played together off and on for over 20 years, this band is a departure from past endeavors. They have a combined 75+ years of professional performance experience. Their music is a mixture of Americana, Alt Country, Rock n Roll and Bluegrass. Their much anticipated first recording is in the works and expected late spring of 2024.

They are actively booking dates for the remainder of 2023 and into 2024.

Tim Lee

(Vocals, Guitars, and Autoharp)

Tim was born and raised in Greenville, SC, and began playing guitar at the age of 12. Some of his earliest musical memories are of his dad putting a stack of records on the stereo every night before bed. His early influences were Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, Hank Williams, Sr., Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Connie Smith, and countless others. His earliest guitar influences were Don Rich, Steve Morse, Duane Allman, Gary Rossington, and Ace Frehley.                                                                                                        

He formed his first band at the age of 14. Finding it a passion, he continued on to play in several area bands throughout the next two decades. After a short hiatus to start a family, he returned to playing at local clubs and regional venues during the 1990s. With a desire to learn more; he attended Southern Wesleyan University at the age of 40 receiving his bachelor’s degree in music with a concentration in classical guitar in 2006.

Tim began performing musical theater in 2010. He has previously performed at Centerstage Theatre, The Historic Pelzer Auditorium, The Warehouse Theater, and The Greenville Little Theater. His theater credits are A Pelzer Gospel Homecoming, Beehive, Bright Star, California Dreaming, Christmas in Dixie, Classic Country, Evil Dead: The Musical, Honky Tonk Angels, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Juke Box Heroes’, Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas, Rock and Roll Heaven, Rock n Roll Heaven 2, Shout the Mod Musical, Smokey Joe’s Café, and The Rocky Horror show.

 

These days you can find Tim performing an eclectic mix of acoustic-driven Americana, Southern Rock, and Blues, with the occasional fiery guitar solo both as a solo artist, with The Faulty Plowers, and The Cashmere Possums all over South Carolina and the southeastern US.       

Keven Heuer

(Vocals, Drums, and Percusison)

Kevin Heuer has been playing drums in the upstate of South Carolina for more than three decades. He moved to the Upstate SC area from his native North Tonawanda, (Buffalo) New York in 1979. Now a long-time resident of Greenville, South Carolina, Kevin has been a private drum teacher at several area schools. Not only has he been teaching privately from 1988 to the present, but he also has instructed marching band drum lines at Mauldin high school from 1988 to 1997 and Morristown West high school Tennessee from 1993 to 1997.

Kevin has played with area local pop-rock outfits such as Eavan’s Dilemma, from 1990 to the present. He also has worked with acclaimed artist Daniel Howle from the  Columbia/Charleston area to the Vigilantes of Love/Bill Malonee  Athens Georgia, and has toured the US, Canada, UK, and Europe.

Kevin is also a long-time participant in the Greenville/Spartanburg area theater scene for 20+ years. He has/is performing with the Greenville Theatre, Spartanburg little theater, Centrestage Theater, and The Warehouse Theater, to name a few. He is also a much sought-after session drummer in the upstate area.

Kevin is a coffee aficionado and loves to try espressos from all over the world. He is also an animal lover. His cat’s name is Milo, with whom he has regular conversations. Kevin come from a family of musicians. He has two nephews that are singer-songwriters in the Denver, Colorado, and Annapolis/Baltimore areas respectively.

Russ Chapman

(Vocals, and Bass Guitar)

Russ is a private bass, drum, guitar, and percussion instructor. He currently plays with Goldship recording artist Mark Webb Jr, and the Faulty Plowers. He has played with such notable artists as Russ Lee of Newsong, Ted Russell Camp of Shooter Jennings, American Idol finalist, Chris Sligh, and has toured and recorded with Sony staff writer and producer Corey Crowder.

Russ has also performed in The Warehouse Theater’s productions of “Evil Dead: The Musical”, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” Christ Church’s production of “Grease: The Musical,” The Mill Town Players' productions of “Rock n Roll Christmas,” “ A Pelzer Gospel Homecoming,” “ Always Patsy Cline,” “ Christmas in Dixie,” “ Honky Tonk Angels,” “ California Dreaming,” “Smokey Mountain Christmas,” and “Bee Hive: The Musical.”
